FERRARA and BOLOGNA tour
Ferrara is two cities in one: its heart is characterized by the medieval city, with its cathedral and imposing castle of Este, yet only five minutes from the castle the visitor enters the reinaissance town where there is the famous Palazzo dei Diamanti. Not by chance Ferrara, a true jewel, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The main monument of interest is, without doubt, the colossal Estense Castle, perfectly preserved and still with its fortress-like appearance and the moat full of water. The part of the Middle Ages, with its narrow streets and alleys, houses built with narrow passages and alleyways, is home to many beautiful, noble palaces. Even the Renaissance city walls, huge, and still surrounding the historic center of the city for 9 km, are very characteristic. Tradition defines Bologna with three adjectives: Bologna "the learned", because it is home of the first university in the Western world, Bologna "the Fat" for its culinary vocation and tradition of fine cuisine and excellent gourmet, Bologna "Red" for the color of most of the houses.Bologna offers many cultural, artistic, culinary attractions and many things to see and do strolling through the typical 'Portici' that run for almost 40 km around the city.
