BOLGHERI SUPERTUSCAN wine tour
Bolgheri is a small medieval village, situated at the end of the famous avenue of cypress trees from San Guido; the village is surrounded by forests rich in mediterranean vegetation and a well-tilled plain. Inside, the narrow streets and squares that evoke the atmosphere of other times, there are small "shops" where you can still find local products and where you can taste the local specialties. To make Bolgheri famous are also its red wines, which, thanks to the particular characteristics of the soil and microclimate which is sunny, dry and moderately windy, allow for the production of high quality wines. Indeed there are well-established grape varieties from Bordeaux, such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot that ensure the excellent quality of the various types of wine. Among the most famous to be found are Sassicaia and Masseto; the former from the Incisa della Rocchetta family , the latter from the Ornellaia Estate.
